The mission of the Mother Teresa Transitional House for Men is to provide transitional housing and supportive services for men impacted by homelessness.
We serve and empower our guests by providing them with the tools and resources to achieve permanent housing and economic independence.
The goal is to develop individualized programs that will help foster independence, promote self-esteem, and provide self-sufficiency for homeless men. Our ultimate goal is to move individuals to permanent housing.
Mother Teresa Transitional Housing for Men is dedicated to serving homeless single men who face significant barriers to obtaining and maintaining permanent housing. It offers an extended period for stabilization, learning, and planning — essential steps for successfully ending homelessness and securing long-term housing. Many participants have a history of obtaining housing only to lose it again, or they possess traits that typically reduce the likelihood of sustaining permanent housing without support.
Our transitional housing program accommodates 24 single men for up to 24 months, offering 24 private bedrooms. Our residents share common areas such as restrooms, showers, laundry facilities, a commercial kitchen, a recreation area, a dog kennel, and security-enhanced grounds. In addition, supportive services and workshops are provided, including rental counseling, Fair Housing, budgeting and money management, saving for permanent housing, anger management, nutrition and cooking classes, and drug and alcohol prevention. Workshops also focus on developing social skills needed for re-entering society, assistance with securing employment, and opportunities for those wanting to return to school.
Following the "Needs of a Homeless Person through the Continuum of Care System," our program and services will continue to implement the following:
