The Multi-Purpose Activity and Therapeutic Center is an expansion of our programs and services to our homeless community, and a commitment to the prevention and empowerment program throughout the services provided for the Diocese of Corpus Christi and the community Continuum of Care System. On a daily basis, this facility provides an all-inclusive curriculum and activities designed to help our clients deal with life stressors. This facility allowed us to develop and incorporate a holistic therapeutic program where our homeless clients can benefit from an array of services and programs conducive to learning and socialization. The most important part of our program is that it provides and creates consistency; it continues to be a great tool in the solidification of effective case management, and it is a great access point to our counselors, and case management team. Furthermore, it has given us a guide to coordinate extended opportunities for client growth through community workshops, support groups, and motivational speakers; in the process it has helped us develop tools for coping with life’s stressors such as personal growth and self-esteem. This program serves as a model to the community, and it is an inspiration for what is possible; it helps enhance individual case management, with tangible therapy techniques in a controlled and supervised environment.
